Plan collection in Braunlage
For skiing at Wurmberg, Wurmberger rents equipment at Am Amtsweg 6, 38700 Braunlage. The operator says it currently works only from that address, so do not assume an additional collection counter at a lift. Another named option is Skiverleih Ewelt at Bismarckstraße 33, also in Braunlage. Compare the collection address with your intended start at the Wurmberg cable car or Hexenritt and with the meeting point for any booked lesson. The rental shop and the place where skiing begins are not necessarily the same location.
Prices without an identified season
Wurmberger lists a complete adult carving-ski package at €20 per day and a child package at €15. Helmets are separately listed at €5 per day. Ski-only hire for visitors bringing suitable boots costs €15 for adults or €10 for children. The operator’s list checked on 24 October 2026 does not identify a specific season. Treat these amounts as guidance and confirm them before travelling. In particular, ask which children qualify and what the complete package contains. These figures must not be applied to Ewelt or any other Braunlage rental business.
Opening hours and availability
Wurmberger advertises Monday–Sunday opening from 08:30 to 17:00, with later collection by arrangement. It states that advance reservations are not possible. Arriving early and allowing fitting time is therefore sensible during holiday weekends, although a particular size cannot be guaranteed here. Ewelt lists daily 08:00–18:00 opening when snow conditions are reliable. That condition matters: a shop’s opening hours do not prove that every lift or piste is operating. Check current mountain operations and telephone the rental business to confirm actual collection and return arrangements if the weather is uncertain.
Children and visitors with their own boots
For families, compare the cost including a helmet. Adding a separately rented helmet to Wurmberger’s stated child package adds €5 per day. Ask whether the child price applies to the equipment size needed. Bringing your own boots also requires the rental team to check their compatibility with the chosen bindings and make the appropriate adjustments. Take the boots to the shop rather than supplying only a written shoe size. For a first-time child skier, choose the access point around the lesson meeting place rather than assuming that the day must begin at the highest lift station.
Treat arrival and parking separately
Save the confirmed shop address first and the intended ski access second in your route planner. Decide from the actual route whether to drive onwards after collection or walk to your meeting point. An advertised shuttle should not underpin the plan without current confirmation. Equipment hire likewise does not reserve a lift-side parking space. Check signs, parking charges and winter road conditions at the access you select. Leave enough time at the end of the day to return all hired items to the agreed shop before setting off for your accommodation or onward transport connection.
