Winklmoosalm / Steinplatte / Reit im Winkl

Rent in town or beside the gondola
For the German approach to Winklmoosalm–Steinplatte, Hausberg offers two collection locations. The main shop is at Tiroler Straße 3–5, 83242 Reit im Winkl. A second rental hut stands in Seegatterl directly beside the Winklmoosalm gondola. Collecting in town may suit guests staying there, while Seegatterl can be more convenient when driving straight to the lift. Select the branch deliberately when making your reservation. A booking for Reit im Winkl is not equivalent to collecting equipment on the Austrian side in Waidring, even though both names appear in descriptions of the wider ski area.
Published prices for 2026/27
Hausberg explicitly labels its price list 2026/27. For adults aged 16 and over, Basic skis including poles cost €24 per day and Comfort skis cost €29. Boots are a separate €14. Adding the components gives €38 or €43 for skis, boots and poles on the first day: these are calculated totals, not separately advertised package prices. A helmet is not included in those sums. The information was checked on 24 October 2026. Longer rentals have graduated prices, so compare the full holiday duration rather than multiplying or comparing only the first-day amount.
Online booking and returns
Hausberg advertises a five-percent online saving and requires online reservations to be completed at least 24 hours before collection. Check the final displayed price and any conditions. Published daily hours are 08:30–18:00 for the town shop and 08:30–17:00 for Seegatterl. These are advertised operating details; confirm the actual season opening before visiting. A free depot for rented equipment is offered in Seegatterl. Ask how access and returns work, particularly on your final day. The town shop closing later does not automatically mean that equipment hired in Seegatterl may be returned there.
Coordinate the family journey
For a child lesson, establish the exact meeting point first, then plan equipment collection and the gondola journey. The rental hut is at the bottom in Seegatterl, so add any necessary uphill ride to the fitting time. Children should test their boots carefully and have the helmet fitted together with their goggles. Ask about the appropriate child tariff and possible size changes. The adult prices above are not a reliable substitute for a specific family quote. A depot may simplify carrying equipment but does not replace planning for breaks, personal clothing and the return trip to your accommodation.
Reaching Seegatterl and parking
Seegatterl is on the B305 between Reit im Winkl and Ruhpolding. The operator describes three parking areas. P1 and P2 are free for users with a valid ski or gondola ticket; without such a ticket, the published charge is €17 per day. P3, intended for ski tourers, cross-country skiers and walkers, is listed at €5 per day. These details were checked on 24 October 2026; local signs remain decisive. A ski bus links Reit im Winkl with Seegatterl and is described as free for ski-area customers. Check the current timetable, particularly your return connection after handing back equipment.
