Oberjoch / Bad Hindelang

Match the rental shop to your lesson and lift
In Oberjoch, first mark your booked lesson and preferred lift on the map. Ski Hosp is at Passstraße 14, 87541 Oberjoch; the lift company describes it as directly beside the piste. Families with lessons at the Iselerbahn also have a specific alternative in the Ski-Center run by Skischule Ostrachtal, which the lift company places immediately at that valley station. An address in the village does not tell you whether the walk is comfortable for a child in ski boots. Plan collection, the lesson meeting point and equipment return together before reserving the cheapest category.
Winter hours at Ski Hosp
Ski Hosp publishes winter hours of 09:00–17:00 Monday to Friday and 08:30–17:00 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Earlier weekend opening helps with lessons but does not remove the need for fitting time. If you want to start before 09:00 on a weekday, ask about collection arrangements beforehand. The operator says its ski cellar can be used for skis rented there, while boots are taken away in the evening. Heated lockers are also available for an extra charge. These can be useful for a multi-day stay but should be booked explicitly.
Adult and child rental prices
Checked online on 24 October 2026; the published rental list does not identify a specific season. Ski Hosp’s Standard ski, boot and pole set costs €28 for one day, €75 for three days and €135 for six. The Expert set starts at €31 per day, but the list requires an additional damage-protection contribution. Confirm that charge before reserving. Children are grouped by ski length: Bambini equipment of 70–90 centimetres costs €14 per day, while the 100–140-centimetre child category costs €17. A helmet is €4 extra. The operator advertises a family discount from one adult and two children renting for at least two days; ask for the actual final total.
The children’s area has separate admission
Skischule Ostrachtal’s Schneekinderland is at the Iseler valley station. The school lists daily opening of 09:00–16:00 and explicitly says that the lift company’s ski pass is not valid there. Published admission is €16 per person for a full day or €12 from 13:00. Ostrachtal lesson participants and holders of the Bad Hindelang PLUS guest card are listed as eligible for free entry. Check these conditions before visiting too. The distinction matters for families: equipment hire, lessons, the children’s area and an ordinary ski pass are separate booking components.
Approach via Oy-Mittelberg and parking
The lift company recommends leaving the A7 at Oy-Mittelberg and continuing around 20 kilometres on the B310. It lists parking at Iselerbahn and Wiedhagbahn at €5 per day, with free parking at Grenzwiesbahn. The free car park is not necessarily the most convenient for a lesson at Iselerbahn. Weigh the extra journey against the saving, particularly with young children. If coming via Bad Hindelang, allow for the mountain-pass section and winter road conditions. At the end of the day, leave enough time to change footwear and return equipment before 17:00.
