Who is season rental for?
Season-long rental can suit skiers taking several trips who want to keep their equipment between visits. For growing children, ask whether a size exchange is available during the agreed rental period. It is not automatically cheaper than separate bookings: compare your realistic number of ski days, equipment category and included services. Use quotations covering the same dates and equipment.
Compare the complete cost
Write down the total for skis, boots, poles and any helmet. Ask whether servicing, edge tuning, base care, size exchanges, a deposit or optional damage cover are included. Divide the total by your expected ski days and compare it with an appropriate multi-day rental. A low daily equivalent is less useful if the equipment fits poorly or collection involves a long journey. The shop's individual quotation determines the price; there is no single season-rental rate.
Children and fit
Children should try boots with their ski socks. Discuss height, weight, ability and intended use with the rental staff. Oversized boots are not a good way to allow for growth. Instead, establish where exchanges are possible, whether they cost extra and whether they depend on stock. Have a professional check and adjust the binding after a boot change.
Collection and return
Record the rental start, end and return deadline. Check shop hours for those particular days and include transport to the resort when collecting equipment near home. Photograph existing wear at handover and ask how damage or theft should be reported. Dry and store the equipment according to the rental shop's instructions. Before booking, ask what happens if your trip is cancelled or you ski less often than expected.
